Macie got to hang out at the office today! She was a good girl and stayed in her crate (she LOVES her crate!) and enjoyed a special puppy treat with frosting.

Hunting for a Home
Miss Macie was not very excited to go to an adoption event this Saturday, but we had people to meet and places to go... So into the car we went. Macie was our copilot as we drove to the 7C Petsmart.
When we pulled into the parking lot, Macie looked at me as if to say "Adoption what? I don't think I like the sound of that..."
We met a lot of nice people who were patient with Macie and tried to get to know her, but our girl is still a bit of a wallflower. We learned that Macie shouldn't go to a home with children because when she gets scared and stressed she can sometimes snap. Macie is a sweetheart, but she just doesn't handle stress well, so she will need someone to be super patient with her.
So no home for Macie this weekend, but here's hoping her family will find her next weekend.

I dear say we are potty trained...
In just a week, little Macie is housetrained! It took some diligence and a little crate lockdown here and there, but we are on day four accident free now! Good girl Macie!

Nom nom nom.... Antlers!
Our dogs and foster dogs love to chew on antlers! (Don't worry, deer shed them so no animals were harmed in the production of these chews!) We got 2 lbs worth in the mail today and the pups were super excited. Macie was so excited that they had to try two at a time, one for each paw!
My Little Walking Buddy
Macie has become a great little walking buddy! We tried out my new hands free leash today and Macie pranced along right by my side happy to be out and about. She is no longer scared of cars as they pass by us and doesn't freeze at the sight of a stranger. She just keeps walking with her tail wagging while I tell her that she is a good girl!

You are my Sunshine!
You are my SUNSHINE, my only SUNSHINE, you make me HAPPY when skies are grey...
That is my little Macie's theme song today. It may be raining and grey outside, but this brave little one charged fearlessly out into the rain, did her business, and ran right back in to snuggle on the couch with me. She makes me smile and giggle like I'm a kid again. Macie is my sunshine today!

Potty Progress!
Macie made some huge potty progress today and did most of her business outside! She is a quick little learner and really wants to please her people. She is definitely an outdoorsy little lady and loves to run and hop like a bunny. It is quite adorable with that long little body of hers!
Couches are Cool
Macie was adorable last night. She kept poking her head over the couch and looking at me as if to ask "Can I get up there too?!"
Then she started to put her paws up on the couch... "Wait, I can get up here?!"
This afternoon Macie jumped right up and found my snuggly blanket. I am so impressed with how brave and confident she has become in such a short period of time! Go cuddle bug go!

So now she's snuggling with me while I finish up writing this blog post. I think I have made a little friend and she is quite a doll!

Toys, toys, toys!
Macie has already opened up a lot tonight! She is bouncing and prancing and playing with every toy she can find! This girl LOVES squeaky toys!
Meeting Macie
Little miss Macie came to Lost Dog from a shelter in West Virginia. I didn't know much about her at first except that she was really really cute!
When I met her at her first adoption event she was very shy and nervous. She looked away when people made eye contact and refused to walk on the leash. She shook whenever she was on the ground, but was happy when her volunteer decided to carry her.

Today my foster dog Lolly got adopted so I was on the hunt for a replacement when I saw little Macie shaking in her volunteer's arms again. I couldn't resist taking her home so I picked her up and away we went! As we got away from the chaotic adoption event, Macie started to relax. She got to ride shotgun in the car and looked at me with those beautiful big brown eyes of hers.
When we got home she was greeted by our crazy pack of pups - a bossy terrier, a shy shepherd, and a goofy pit bull. She was a little overwhelmed at first by the bigger pups and all of the attention, but quickly settled in and became an adorable little addition to the family!
